Spybot, Norton Internet Security, System Restore

Friend downloaded Spybot Dec 2004. Then in Jan 2006 downloaded online
purchase of NIS. Installation of NIS would not complete, system would freeze
without messages. System would not restore to any earlier restore point
(there were bold dates.) Used Symatec removal tool to take out all NIS,
restart system and try to start download again. Nothing different.

Finally, I went to Add/Remove Progams and deleted Spybot. System would
restore and NIS installed.

Spybot figures that TeaTimer was configured wrong. Can anyone help with
configuring TeaTimer so this won't happen again?

Correction Spybot was downloaded Dec 2005

Don't use Tea Timer or any other application if you don't know what it does.
Simply disabling Tea Timer would've allowed your friend to (1) install NIS
and (2) using System Restore.

Thanks for the help. The friend downloaded Spybot, I had not worked with Tea
Timer before this. I wasn't aware how it "locked" down the system until now.

If TeaTimer is the problem. Then dont use it.
