spybot caused problems after removing files

I ran a scan and foung 4 in safe mode and 8 in normal
mode. I removed with out quarantine the files after reboot
my MY shows it authinticates to the domain but when I try
to access any domain shared folder I get the login box
asking me to authinticate. not only this we use a proxy
server to access the web. now it just does nothing even
though all looks fine with the connection lan setting in
IE all I get when I eneter an address " unable to find
search " now all my option is to reformat.

It seems it removes spyware and alone with taht removes
some files taht are required by windows

Glenn - I'm sorry you are having this problem--it is one of the pitfalls of
beta software that sometimes it does not operate as smoothly as expected.

Do you know whether your system has a proxy or firewall client installed to
work properly with the corporate server?

Here's something to try:
-------------------------------------
(winsock reset for 2k, xp pre sp2, and 2003 pre sp1)

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;817571

(Winsock reset for xpsp2)

netsh winsock reset

enter
restart machine.
-----------------------------

Choose a procedure from the above pair depending on your OS version.

Once you have reset the LSP stack, you may need to reinstall software that
added LSP's to the stack--I'm not sure whether a corporate proxy or firewall
client does this, but it seems possible.

Hi Bill,

the proxy is just a radius server (unix) there is no
client on Pc, just we addentry to the LAN connection tabs
in IE, what happened is MS spyware removed some file a DLL
I assume taht does not bring up the proxy auth box.
another interesting thing was I found that it did somthing
to the "NETLOGON" service when I check in services it did
not start automatically or even manually , well I just
reformated the PC luckly I still have all my data.

If you or other readers run into similar symptoms in the future, one useful
autopsy tool is the cleaner.log file in the directory where Microsoft
Antispyware was installed. This should list the files that were removed.
