Since installing the latest update to XP, the process
SPOOLSV.EXE runs upoon startup and consumes 99% of CPU
usage which grids the system to a halt in all other
applications -- when I end that process, sometimes I can
print but the SPOOLERSV.EXE process again starts,
printing occurs and the 99% CPU usage remains. OTher
times when I end the process the next time I print it
says "no printers are installed" and I either have to
reboot to print or reinstall the printers. Any ideas out
there -- the Microsoft knowledge base addresses the
problem with an LPT ported printer but says it only
occurs when printing -- this occurs at all times -- the
printer is a LAserjet 6 and is an LPT ported printer.
THanks to anyone that can help.
