Spooler subsystem app

I am running XP with SP2 and I have two printers hooked to machine, both are
Epson. One is an 880 the other is a CX7800. The 880 works fine but the CX7800
gives "spooler sub system app" errors. I have removed all evidence of any
printers in the OS and reinstalled the CX7800 alone, still the same errors.
I would like to use the CX7800 for more than a scanner, I have sent notes to
Epson but no help has come from them.

The "spooler subsystem" is part of XP. Removing and replacing printers has
no effect on the subsystem (as you found out).
I would run the system file checker (sfc) from the command prompt or
(preferably) in safe mode. That my give you some idea of what the problem
is.
