"Spooler Subsystem App" Popup Message

User is getting the pop up error message titled "Spooler Subsystem
App" even when he was not trying to print.

In the Event Viewer, I get the message : Faulting application spoolsv.exe
version 5.1.2600.2696, faulting module localspl.dll version 5.1.2600.2180,
fault address 0x00017140

PrintSpooler service is running properly on this workstation. Please advise
to see what I should look into. Thx - :)

The lean printer drivers coming along with WinXP are several years old
and do not fit to modern printers. Therefore, there is huge third-party
printer software installed in most cases and this software and/or its
monitoring components run in the background usually. If this is poor
software, it may fail at *any* time.
In the Event Viewer, I get the message : Faulting application spoolsv.exe
version 5.1.2600.2696, faulting module localspl.dll version 5.1.2600.2180,

Remove and reinstall the printer driver software or even better, look for
an update at the manufacturer's homepage.
