spool service terminates and logs ID error 7031

Hello,

I have a W2k Pro SP3 Laptop that keeps terminating it's
spool service. When it terminates the service Event ID
7031 is logged. You can restart the service but as soon
as you try to access a printer again it terminates it
once more. I have just applied SP4 as recomended by
Microsoft but i just get the same frustrating result.
Anyone cured this before? If so how?!?!?
