Spelling Option Won't Let Me Change

When I go to tools/options, then click on Spelling & Grammar, the spelling
options are dimmed out and won't let me make any changes.

Any help is very much appreciated, thanks!

check and see if the document is protected?

[TOOLS]
in the list there should be either a word that says "protect" or "unprotect"
(it won't be both)

if the word says "unprotect" then the document is protected against changes
(to include spelling changes)

if it says "protect" then I'm not sure.

Thanks for the help, Chris. Pretty good for being "still a beginner" .

Duh for me, the spelling option just hadn't been loaded from the CD. All is
well.
