Spellcheck in Outlook Express Halts

I just installed XP a couple of days ago. And, it's been
working OK except for today when it's become a bit
buggy. Specifically, while in Outlook Express the spell
check gets halted. I did a virus check and no virus were
found (Norton).

The other thing that was a bit strange delt with Excell.
After installing Office and going in to the options menu
to make some changes a 2nd time, I couldn't open the
options menu and got an error notice. Don't know what's
going on here. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
