Spell Checking

Outlook has suddenly stopped doing continuous spelling and grammar checking
when I write an email.

Spell checking is still available on the menu, but it's not checking while I
type. Also, the language entry in the tools menu is missing.

All this is still available as usual in Word.

This may have happened when I added a third party toolbar to Internet
Explorer, which also claimed to be doing something with Outlook. I
uninstalled the toolbar, but I don't know how fully this worked.

Any ideas how I can fix this (short of a full reinstall)?
