Spell check in WORD 2007 isn't functioning.

In both my computers with WORD 2007, the spell check isn't functioning. The
grammar check is. I KNOW how to turn it on and off, but that does nothing.
Is there a virus going around that shuts off spell check?

Apparently it is a common problem and nothing to do with a virus. Start by
checking if the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Proofing Tools\1.0\Override" exists and if it does delete it.

Hi,

this happened to me out of the blue once and I discovered that spell
checking had been disabled in the Add-ins section (Word start button - word
options - Add-ins).

Enabling it fixed the problem for me.
