For some reason, my 8250 HP inkjet receives this message when
installing it. During the 7 step phase it gives this message at around
the 5th step and continues on through the phases and completes
normally stating everything is ok. I use the USB port for both my
digital camera and the Ipod and the port is known and works. I deleted
all the USB devices and still receive this message. I went to HP and
did the online chat and got no where. In the event viewer I get the
error message stating Failed to connect to server and yet this is a
direct connect from Printer to PC. Granted my Motherboard is about 5
years old so I do not think that the USB ports just cannot handle the
new printer. ANy suggestions before I do a reinstall of WIndows XP Pro
edition?
