Specified Device Denied

When I clik on comand prompt in the start menu I get the
message "access to specified Device denied" What's up with
that? Anyone? Do I need to reinstall?

Thanks, Gene

A GUESS: It has something to do with your
Autoexec.nt or Config.NT files -- maybe a modem
conflicting with the serial port or lpt.

And if you enter CMD
in the Start menu's RUN... box?

same deal, "Access to specified device, path is denied"

Okay. Rules out a shortcut problem. Sounds like a permissions
issue... Are you logged on with an Admin. account? Have you altered
ACLs at the root level of any drive? Have you checked the ACLs on
cmd.exe and any root directories? Have you set anything to
EVERYONE=None?
