What I usually do is access the extra material by exploring the CD drive (do that by right-clicking on the CD drive and choose explore) and finding the setup icon (if there's one) or a movie file. It depends on the CD. Also, read the instructions that are usually in fine print on the back of the cd case or inside the booklet. That can offer some info on how to access the extras.
