Special desktop icon for IE

Is there a way to create an icon for IE on the desktop
and then modify it so when it is started up it will take
the user to a particular URL? I want the URL to be
something other than my normal home page. I was thinking
there might be a switch that would allow input of the
URL. Anyone out there know if this can be done?

Hi George,

If IE is your default browser, creating a normal shortcut to a webpage will
do just that.

Try this:
Find "IExplore.exe"
Right-click and drag IExplore.exe to the desktop and choose "Create
shortcut." Right-click that shortcut> Properties> Target, modify the Target
to include the URL.
Example:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE"
becomes
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" www.yahoo.com
Note a space between " and w
