my computer had a virus in it and my friend's father fixed it but all
the memory was erased and now the speakers do not work and i do not
have the cd that came with them to install the software for them and i
have gone to p.c richard to get new speakers but they do not come with
the software so i have no sound on my computer and it says that my
sound card is not active in the control panel. what do i do? i need
sound!

What you need to do is install the correct drivers for your
sound card. To obtain the audio drivers, go to the computer
manufacturer's web site and look for a support section. If you
have a separate audio card, go to the card manufacturer's web
site.

If you're unable to find the correct drivers, post back with
information about your computer including the make and model #.
