If you replace the speakers with a set of headphones - got sound?
Volume on the computer up? Not muted?
Sound Card driver updated to the latest from the manufacturer?
And one more, that "bit" me on a recent image...If you updated the
sound card driver, confirm that a High Definition Audio Driver package
is not needed. In my case, I could get audio from the rear port, but
the internal speaker, and front audio port acted "dead".
