speakers won't work

I have re-installed xp and now I have no audio device/no sound. Yes I have re-installed the driver.
Thank you for your help
 
Rogers, go to Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices. Look in there for
any adjustments you can make.
 
Yes I have done this. There is nothing I can change as it states no Audio Device.
Any other suggestions????
 
What is your Audio Source? Sound Card or Onboard audio chip? Let me
know what it is and the
Motherboard you are using.
