At some point, my speakers started popping real loud when I boot up and when
I shut down my computer. Sometimes I can hear a background noise as I move
my mouse around. I have xp home, 2.4G, 512MB, an ati 8500dv all in wonder
graphics card, and sound blaster audigy. Any ideas? Thanks.

Rob,
I don't know if this will help.
Check that all your volumes are set at the same level.
ie, control panel/volume... and any advance tabs that will
let you adjust the volume of your output.
I may suggest to set all levels to medium. I MEAN ALL.
Only use the last line of your speakers volume control as
the final volume(general)control. naturely, your will add
volume using any set program's controls, that you are
using for fine tuning(volume)control. This in fact helped
me control of crackling of great startup sounds that I
used as THX. If this dosn't help, Never Mind. PJC
