Speakers arent being detected

Just installed a new 80GB Hard Drive. Speakers arent being detected on the
system....stock speakers. Anyone have a clue how to make them detect. XP is
OS.

Speakers aren't usually "detected" as such. Are they plugged into the
correct audio jack?

Did you move XP on the new HDD? Try reinstalling the audio drivers.
Alternatively, you can uninstall the sound card from Device Manager and let
XP re-install it after reboot.
Otherwise, go to Sounds in Control Panel and check your drivers.
