We don't get any music through the cd/dvd drive or our hard drive, all we get is a constant humming that sounds like feedback. We've tried disconnecting them and going through troubleshooting but nothing helps. Has this happened to any one else?

Has this just started happening or has it always been lke that?

Maybe you will find a clou underneath.
Good luck . Phil

Radio reception through the speakers indicates a ground/shield problem
or the audio cable to the speakers is disconnected from the computer or
damaged. Try a different cable and/or different set of speakers.

It is likely that there is a radio station transmitter nearby, and that
the speaker wires or amp may be picking it up via induction. This can
happen even if the unit is shut down.

Move or shorten (if possible) the speaker wires, to see if this makes a
difference...or use a more heavily shielded cable. That, and filters on
which the AC cord can be wound, are available at Radio Shack and the like.
Same problem here, from a Mega Tower that is several miles away.
