Speaker Volume Problem

Have had trouble using speakers on new CPU. Have checked all device settings I can possibly find. The sound could only be heard by using ear buds. Thought it was a speaker problem -- bought new speakers 2 days ago. SAME PROBLEM. I again checked all settings I could find and still have only minimal volume. Volume controls are max'd. Any clues anyone?

First thing I would do is go to the manufactures site and check for any
new drivers

Sounds as though your new computer is capable of
only 'line out' output, which means that your system will
require 'powered speakers' that must be plugged into the
wall outlet.
Some systems will power a set of speakers without any
additional power and others won't.
Try that and see if it helps.
