Something wrong with speakers

Hi! I seem to be having some problem with my speakers, or better said with my
right speaker, because the left one is working fine. They're monitor speakers
and new; they've been working fine until today when I realized the volume was
pretty low so when i checked the speakers I saw that the right one wasn't
working. I tried to see what's wrong and when I went into Realtek (the sound
manager) it tested the speakers and no sound was coming out of the right one.
Any ideas what might be the problem? Thanks in advance!

Check the phone jack. Often the they make poor contact with the minature
tip/ring/sleeve plug going to the speakers..

Step 1. Check the cable connection from your Right speaker to the pc-connection (the sound card). Make sure it is securely & fully seated.
Step 2. (long shot) bring up Windows's Volume Control applet. See if the balance is all set to go to left speaker.

Hey, thanks a lot everybody. Apparently the problem was just hinting to
another 1: My Volume Control Applet had somehow been deleted along with other
windows components so the balance was messed up but I couldn't fix it until I
reinstalled all the accessories I didn't have. Again, thanks everybody! :)

Hello Maurice!
You seem to be the EXPERT at this issue.
I have NO VOLUME on the (Right) Speaker. Left Speaker works fine and Volume
Level on HIGH. The Master Volume Balance is in the CENTER where it should
be...I play a Video/Music file and I slide it Left.....Left speaker works
fine. I slide it to the Right....NO SOUND.

I have a MICROTEK 914 Monitor (with SPEAKERS in the Monitor). I've made
sure the "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the ADVANCED Tab are set to MONITOR
SPEAKERS. Then I play a music clip and slide the balance to the left speaker
(sound works).....slide it to the right speaker (no sound).

I've contacted MICROTEK (Tech Support) where I got the monitor from and did
troubleshooting and all to NO avail.....still doesn't work. I've made sure
ALL connections were in tact and no loose cables. MICROTEK stated it appears
to be the Right Speaker failed. I think it may be something else with the
settings of some type and done all the troubleshooting I could.

Are there OTHER steps you can assist me with on this? I think the speaker
settings "might" have been corrupted and need to be reset. Your opinion?

Your professional expertise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Bill :)
