Speaker Crackle

Over the last two or three days when using FS 2002 the
sound has begun to crackle, this also interferes with the
picture causing it to stutter. Any ideas/solutions.

What sound and video cards/drivers do you have? I would suggest getting the
latest drivers for both. If you do that you can try this:

Run dxdiag. Click STart->Run>"dxdiag" then hit enter

Click on the sound tab and run the sound tests - You can lower the sound
acceleration, if the crackle goes away then this points to a sound driver
problem.

Since you video is stuttering, it could be a video driver problem as well.
