SPDIF

I am trying to set up my computer to run on my stereo reciever using SPDIF.
I have a digital coax cable that I have connected the two with. But I am not
able to get any sound out of the reciever. I tried the cable with different
devices and recievers and I know that my reciever works. So there is
something going on with my computer. Do I need to enable something in
Windows? I have XP Pro. Thnx.

You need to go into your sound card's settings, possibly advanced settings,
depending on your card model, and make sure that digital output is enabled.
Some sound cards make you enable digital output while cutting off all analog
outputs, others, such as the Audigy 2 ZS series, allow you to have digital
enabled and analog, at the same time.

Well, I am not sure how to do that. I can not find anywhere options for my
sound card. I have an onboard sound card with my A7V8X asus board that came
with the optional SPDIF input/output. If anyone can help me to activate the
digital output that would be great. Thnx.
