SpamKiller problems

Hi
I am running the Macafee security package for 2004,the only problem is
I have to turn the Internet Security part off so Spamkiller can get my
mail,if I don't it just stays busy without downloading anythingl.

If I then turn the Internet Security feature back on Spam Killer has no
problem getting my mail,as long as I don't turn my computer off.

I am running Win XP I have experienced problems with the Desktop,
since I added a second user to my system,I am wondering if that is
causing Spam Killer problems. The other user keeps getting asked if
she wants to set spam killer up,as though it has just been installed
and it is the first time the computer has been switched on.I have had
some simelar problems with other programs as well, especially with
icons been added to both desktops after installing something.

I would like to thank Macafee help for not answering one of my emails
concerning this problem, they won't be getting my money next bloody
year.Actually if I had not had so many problems last year with Norton's
bug ridden Spam Alert,I would have stuck with them, but I could no
longer face the daily task of sorting my emails by hand, becauce spam
alert blocked friends as well as enemies.! Norton did answer my
emails though I will give em that one.

What the bloody hell do you have to do to get decent service after the
bastards have got your money ? I apologise if this is the wrong ng to
post this, but my hair, what is left of it is falling out over this one,can
anyone help ?

Thanks.

That is McAfee and no Macafee.

What I believe is your problem is that the security package (a firewall)
need to have access rules to allow Spamkiller to access the Internet. If
the "firewall" has been told to not allow Spam Killer to go thru, then Spam
Killer may be block.

BTW: Zone Alarm seems to be a better firewall and Spam Pal is a Spam
detection system. Both are available for "free".

configure it and see if that helps

I have configured Spam Killer I even told the firewall to allow
Spamkiller free access to the internet, but it is not the firewall that
is causing the problem,it is the Internet Security part that looks
after privacy of files that is causing the problem.Spamkiller comes
with an interface that you can slot a firewall, virus scanner, and
privacy control into, but someone bought me the Macafee
Internet 2004 security package and that also comes with a user
interface, but there is nowhere for Spamkiller to slot into.

I am wondering if this is the problem, but I also don't trust Win XP
and it's multiple user desktops, they should be totally seperate from
one another, but they appear not to be.When I turn the Privacy
control off then back on,I first get a window asking me to log back
in to my Security Centre, then another window appears asking me
to log on to Windows, then everythin works as long as my computer
stays on.

Spamkiller is a great program I get more than 1000 spam mails a
month,it stops just about everything, but it is a shame that Macafee's
poor customer service lets this good product down though !

I tried adding new access rules, hell I even formatted and
reinstalled my system,Spam Killer still can only get my
mail if I turn the privacy [Internet Security] section off
then back on again. It is for sure a bug,I have been trying
to sort it out for too long !

I have to say the Norton security package is not as user
friendly as Mcafee, but it beats it hands down as a
program, the pop up and advert stoppers just do not work
as well with the Mcafee system.

In fact I am so pissed off with my Mcafee pacage,I am just
gonna ditch it,there are always bloody messages coming up
telling me something that the bloody program has found,it
is really anoying me.Someone bought it for me anyway so it
didn't cost me anything.
