Why do messges come through as [SPAM] in the subject line? This person is
someone i get mail from all the time and is a contact in my address book.

That isn't a feature of Windows Mail.

It's being done by an anti-virus scanner, either on your system or on your
mail server.

So, look at your antivirus software settings.
