**SPAM** in subject column

Bill

Over the last few weeks an annoying thing has happened to my inbox. The
Following appears infront of an othe rwording in the subject column -
**SPAM**. Sometime the email concerned is spam, often it's not. I don't
know how **SPAM** has got there nor how to remove it. I use PC Tools
Internet Security and Malwarebytes but can't fnd anything in these apps that
could be the culprit. Is it something in Windows Mail itself or could it
be comeing from my ISP?

Regards,

Bill

Definitely not WM.

My guess is your ISP spam filter.

Could be from your ISP. Contact them to see. One of my ISPs can tag (if I
set it up) emails that seem to be SPAM with that tag onto the subject line.

While looking at the message, press Ctrl-F3, which will show the email
headers. That will show what the various email servers say to each other and
what they have to say to us if we look at them. When I did that for a
message I received with the subject "***SPAM*** hoist your darling sexual
times" the text below was in the headers. Note that it is saying that the
system "server2.30u.com", has identified this incoming email as possible
spam, and 30u.com is a large service that provides email services for many
ISPs and hosting services and other businesses and organizations.
