Every morning I recieve no less than 100 emails over night & then
continiously all day that read: System Administrator, mail delivery system,
mail delivery subsystem, mailer-demon@ & postmaster@ emails stating of
undeliverd mail. What are these about? How did they gain access to my email
address & how do I stop them? I do have Norton software installed and tried
to use spam blocker with my service provider to no avail. Any help will be
gratefully recieved.
Thanx

Your email address is probably being used by a spammer to
hide his real email address. They send thousands, even
millions of emails and when the address they are sending to
is invalid the mail system "returns" the notice to you.
You may be able to report that your email address is being
used by a spammer to your ISP and to others, but there is
little you can really do about it.

Hi

Don't use a 'legit' email address when posting to News Groups. These are
'harvested' then spam is sent out to them. You won't be able to do much
about the email address that is already 'infected' apart from using a spam
filtering program. I use Mailwasher Pro which allows you to get rid of much
of the dross that is sent out:

Thanx, understand it all a bit better cheers......and the route I may have to
go down to stop some or all.

You're welcome. The real problem with this is that YOU can
get blacklisted and your ISP might even shut you down. So I
would be sure to report this to at least your ISP. If you
look at the full headers with any returned mail, you may be
able to find out what domain is sending the original email.
