Automatically rejected mail

Every time I send or receive messages I get and email that says Automatically
rejected mail.
Mail Delivery Subsystem ([email protected])
Your message to (mail) was automatically rejected: Quota exceeded.
What does this mean? And how can I fix it?

Should I delete old messages?
I already deleted my sent inbox.
How much of my email should I delete?
