Space bar

At work we came across a different one. The space bar does not work in word
unless you use the shift key. This is the only program on the computer that
does this. It is Windows XP pro word 2003. Has any one else had this problem?
If so, how did you resolve it? We have looked in just about every place we
could think of.

Never heard of this before, but a macro could have run on the machine that
reassigned the keyboard. If you hold down CTRL when starting Word, to go into
Safe Mode, does the behavior go away?

If it does, exit Word. Rename Normal.dot to NormalOLD.dot then start Word again
normally. You can use Tools/Templates and Add-ins/Organizer to copy macros,
toolbars and styles from the old Normal.dot to the new copy.
