after installing sp4, my w2k pc crashed and is a continual
reboot process. cannot boot into safe mode or anything.

Use the W2K install CD and boot into the repair console.
Traverse the directories to
c:\winnt\$NTservicepackuninstall$\spuninst\ .
Run SPUNINST.bat. You'll receive errors but thats ok.
About 30 Mins later you'l return to the c:\. Reboot and
go into Windows. Goto control panel>ad remove programs.
run the uninstall there. This will remove the SP4 all
together. the most likely cause of your problem was that
the SP4 was interupted before finishing next time just
set through and don't let the machine power down or go
into sleep mode.
