SP4 update disables Add/Remove programs

I have installed SP 4 from the Windows update site. After
install the "folders" tree in Windows Explorer does not
appear. Furthermore, I cannot launch the Add/Remove
Programs applet to uninstall the service pack! Any
suggestions?

if you want to uninstall the SP4 without accessing Add/Remove Programs, then
you can go to C:\WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\ and start the
Uninstallation Program there (provided you chose to archive the files when
setting up SP4).
