SP4 disabled internet

I installed SP4 onto my computer (no previous service
packs have been installed), and now I can't connect to the
internet. All my hardware is working properly, drivers are
up to date, but no connection. Please help!

Lauren,

What type of Internet connection do you use? Is it DSL, Cable or a dial up
ISP? Do you use DHCP to get your IP address or is it always the same?

From a command line, click start->run and type cmd in the run box, type
"ipconfig", what IP address do you see? Does it list the IP address from
your ISP or DHCP server?

Next,, are you running a third party firewall software package? If so, try
uninstalling it, and see if you can browse with your web broswer. Then try
reinstalling it and see if it works. It might be the firewall software is
not compatible with the SP4 upgrade.
