What is the version number for the SP3 NTBACKUP? I have installed SP3 on my
XP PRO, but want to verify I am running the latest version of NTBACKUP. I
have searched the site and can not find a single standalone download of it.

I do not believe an update has been issued for Windows Backup
specifically. (Another good reason to consider third-party backup
software. ;-) )

A newer version of NTBackup ships with SP3. There are a bazillion and
one NTBackup versions! The utility is often updated, there are probably
close to ten or more different versions running on Windows XP alone.

I think that version 5.1.2600.5512 is the newest one but there seems to
be a bugs of sorts in it so yet another updated version will probably
pop up somewhere or other.

That's good news! Frankly, I wasn't that impressed with the original.

Likewise. The last time ntbackup worked reliably was on NT4. Though I think
the main problem area is with that dreadful 'Media Pools' feature of the OS,
whose data keeps getting corrupted. Since some third-party backup programs
also rely on this, they may be no more reliable than ntbackup.
