SP3 failure to install

R

rrochefort

The installation gets to about 60% of files installed and then stops with the
"Service Pack 3 Setup Error "Access is Denied".

I am running XP Home edition, signed in as system administrator with 6.64GB
of free space on C: All other programs turned off including firewall and
anti-virus.

Since this failure other programs have also failed to load. Short of a new
computer, any suggestions?

Thanks

My guess is that the 6.64Gb of space is not enough what with all the
merging, adding, removing, saving, etc that goes on during the install of
SP3. Add a second hard drive and move the \Temp and \TMP folders to it
along with the swap file.

When you try to install Windows XP Service Pack, you receive the error
