Sinic installing SP2 on my Windows home XP laptop I get a yello bubble
notification everytime I goot it up, stating that there is no Wireless
connection. I leave the wireless swithed off unless I need it, but would
want an icon to state when it is connected.

Is there a way to stop this bubble everytime I boot?

Open the connection properties. There is a checkbox to display this
dialog.
