SP2 Removal implications

Hi there folks, I have XP home installed with SP2. I inadvertently
installed SP2 prior to installing a patch for my HP internet keyboard which
must be installed prior to SP2. My question is what will happen if I
uninstall SP2, install the fix and then reinstall SP2? Will any other
programmes or functions be affected? Or should I let sleeping dogs lie as
everything is working well except for the keyboard one touch functions?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

Does the HP patch 100% correct whatever it is suppose to correct? At least
one HP 'patch' refers to an MS KB article that is no longer available!!

I'd be very surprised if your keyboard update couldn't be run under SP2.
Have you verified with HP?
I wouldn't go through all the trouble of uninstalling SP2 just for this
anyway (but then, I don't use internet keyboard functions & never have cared
about them).

Does HP have a post SP2 patch for the keyboard or are they planning to
release one?

Hi

If that is a link to an MS article, it doesn't exist. Could please post the
HP link?

Harry posted a Q about a post-SP2 update - have you any knowledge about
that? It would seem that HP's 'patches' are pre-SP2, resulting SP2 having
to be uninstalled, patch applied, then SP2 installed again.
