SP2 - No internet after install

I have a DSL connection. After I upgraded XP Home to SP2, I could no longer
connect to the internet or email through Outlook Express. I added both of
those apps to the SP2 firewall exceptions. No luck. I turned off the
firewall. Still nothing. I contacted Microsoft, who told me my DSL modem
needed an upgrade. My ISP tells me that it's got nothing to do with the
modem. Can anyone help?

try reinstalling the software for your DSL conncection, make sure you
have the username and password you use to log-in your DSL
