SP2, no icons, task bar after install.

Installed SP2 on wifes computer. No errors on install.
When I rebooted computer got the initial security settings
page. When I logged her in using password, her desktop loads
(background) but no Icons or task bar appear. I can log on in
safe mode fine, but when I try to log her in it freezes everytime.
Created a new user in safe mode and rebooted. Had same problem.

This is just a guess, but you might want to see if there are any
updates for your video card driver. I've seen some posts in the
windowsxp.general newsgroup that indicate there is a problem with
some NVIDIA cards not working correctly after installing SP2.

At the very least, check the manufacturer's web site and see
what's available. Start in Safe Mode, fire up Device Manager to
see what video card your using and go from there.
