SP2 & my HP

I just bought this HP computer a month ago & I went to
the HP-update site & see that a few programs need updates
before downloading sp2. Even my system restore needs an
update or it will not restore back to any points beyond
the sp2 download date.
I hope everyone is going to their computer manufacturers
site to check on the updates etc. before downloading sp2.
There are a quite a few programs on mine that simply
state they will not work correctly or at all after sp2 is
installed, if I don't infact install these updates..Just
thought I'd chime in and mention this...

It has to do with HP because many OEM's put proprietary software on
their computers (including drivers) that may not work with SP2. It is
just good practice to go to your computer's mftr. and see if patches
will be needed before installing SP2. This is make/model specific, so
one should search for support for their particular model computer, not
a generic one.
