SP2 installing

I'm considering the idea of upgrading my systems to SP2. I have
come across the following here and there. Any or all of these true?

1: SP2 will install properly even if the machine is at SP0 (no SP1).

2: Machines that come with OEM XP, no XP CD set, need a special version
of SP2. Like XP Home eMachine and Compaq.

3: All MS patches to date must be installed before installing SP2.

I think 1 may be correct, 2 and 3 incorrect. But what do I know?

TIA

You are right on all three counts.

John John has you covered.

Know you should also clean your machines of all adware/spyware, scan for
trojans/worms/viruses, update all hardware drivers to their latest versions,
uninstall unused software using Add/Remove Programs control panel, update
all other software with any patches they may have released, performed a
chkdsk followed by a defrag and backed up all of your important data. Then
you can pretty well install SP2 with confidence.

That's correct. SP2 includes SP1.

2: Machines that come with OEM XP, no XP CD set, need a special

That's false.

3: All MS patches to date must be installed before installing SP2.

That's also false. SP2 is prmarily a collection of all of those older
patches.

You know a lot, apparently, since what you say here is right.
