SP2 installed-.JPG files in OE dont open now

I monitor alt.binaries.pictures.aviation. Previously on this Laptop
running XP and on my older PC running Win98SE, all it took was to click on a
message (which essentially was an aircraft JPEG photo, say 220Kb) and the
photo would load and open from clicking the 'line' in the NG. Now it won't.
There is a paperclip icon which appears on the upper right and instead of
the pic just appearing, I now have to add the extra two steps of clicking on
the "paperclip", then clicking on the filename, say ' airbusA319.jpg'.
This greatly extends the time I must spend on this NG to see the pics as
there are often 50-100 msgs there when I check.

I have the TOOLS/security on OE set to 'Internet less secure, more
functional' and have unchecked the box which reads: Do not allow
attachments to be saved or oprned that could..blah blah. but no joy.

Cant find any other line in Tools etc that may apply.. Ideas ?

Try this:
In OE, Tools, Options, Security - in the download images part - uncheck block images
etc.

I found the answer myself.. UNINSTALL SP2
Iis this a BETA version (pita) ??
Everything works well now

Try this:
In OE, Tools, Options, Security - in the download images part - uncheck block images
etc.

Untick option in OE, Tools, Options, Security which says 'Block images
and other external content in HTML e-mail'
