Downloading JPG Pictures

I have been able to easily download .jpg picture attachments until a couple
of days ago. Now they appear in the attachment area 'greyed out' and I can't
click on it to open it. This is the case with old emails that I have been
able to access the attached jpg's before. I can still download other file
types. The associated program for jpgs is Windows Photo Gallery which has
always been the program I use.

What did I do to mess it up? How do I fix it? I need to download these pics.

Thanks,

glp

Yesterday I could get into my POP3 account settings without any useer name
and password. Now its asking for both. Why? - if I am in as Administrator.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Your problem description is confusing because you seem to be using
the word "download" for something that isn't a download.

That type of problem is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:
