SP2 Installation

I recently uninstalled SP2 to clear up a problem I was having with XML files.
I reinstall SP2 using a clean boot. The installation completed. Now, I
lost my network setup for my high speed DSL. I tried reinstalling it, but it
stalls every time. I cannot see the settings for my internet connection in
IE6.

The only way I can connect to the internet now is in SAFE MODE. When I try
to add a network place in the normal mode, I get a message that Cryptograhpic
Services are not stated. In Admistrative section of Control Panel, I cannot
see the "Extended" part of Services.

I tried to uninstall SP2, but I get an error that "the file cannot be
found", and SP2 will not uninstall. Also, on some of my profiles, the task
bar does not show up, and many of my programs will not work.

Is there anythign I can do at this point?

Hi David,
Open a Run command and type in:
services.msc click [OK].
On the services Control Panel Locate this Service and Make sure it is
started Automatically:
Cryptographic Service

Reboot your machine and see if you can Access the Internet or access your
connection in Normal Mode.

If still no Joy then Open the Run command again and reregister this DLLs:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.d
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 XML3.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll

You can copy and paste this command in a Notepad and name it reg.bat and
save it on the Desktop, then Open the Run command and type in:
C\reg.bat click [OK] and then after finish Reboot your machine.
Run Chkdsk on your system.
HTH.
Let us know.

Hi Nass...

That did not work. If I run "services.msc", most of the services in the
"Standard" tab are stopped or disabled, and I cannot restart them. When I
check the "Extended" tab...no services are listed. Is there any way to
restore all the servies with some type of run command?

Thanks
