Hi! After install of SP2 on WinXP Home all previous
$NtUninstallKBxxxxxx$ folders remain in C:\Windows. Maybe this results
of a failure recorded in the spupdsvc.log file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\spupdsvc.inf at the end of ProcessPostBootInf
48.906: [SpUpdDeleteService] DeleteService Failed: Error:1072
48.906: [SpUpdServiceStart] SpUpdDeleteService returned 1072

The reason of this failure could be the fact that file spupdsvc.inf is
not present on my computer.

Would any good willing MS-MVP tell us how to get rid of the no longer
needed uninstall files and folders? Best thanks for her-his kind
response.

I did it by manually deleting the $NtUninstall* folders.

Thanks! I'll do so too.

Hi! One folder wouldn't delete: $NtUninstallQ315000$. So I tried to boot
first in command line mode and got a black screen. Trying to boot in
safe mode had the same result. Any idea about this?
