SP2 & dial-up

I did not know SP2 was out although I also had automatic
Windows Updates turned-on. I did scan of updates though
and it would take approximately 8 hours to install--a long
time to tie up my one phone line.

Will Microsoft offer another free CD with SP2 updates and
when? This would greatly help us who are still dial-up
users, including certain organizations.

In the meantime is there anyway to create own CD so that I
can update 2 home computers without tying up phone line
for 16 hours? Although I bet the answer is no.

Thanks for infomation.

Microsoft is offering SP2 on a free CD from their site.
All you have to do is go in and request it with your
address. They say it will take 4-6 weeks for
delivery...but it beats dial-up downloads.

Go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cd
order/en_us/default.mspx

Good luck. I installed SP2 and it's rendered my computer
usless...I had to reformat with a fresh install, tried
again, same thing. Computer won't go past the boot
screen. Spent 3 hours on the phone with Microsoft, who
can't solve my issue. They left the call unresolved and
is pending further investigation. Go figure.
