Dial up on second line?

Is it possible to configure my dial up connection to dial out on line 2
instead of simply the first available line. I don't have to dial any
extentions or dial '9' to get out. The phone system starts with line 1 then
rolls over to 2 then 3. The problem is that when the modem dials out on line
1 line 2 cannot receive incomming calls (it says its busy) although I can
call out. Any Ideas??? Thanks

This has nothing to do with XP or dialup networking. There's something
wrong with the phone system if you can't receive calls when line 1 is in
use. What's the point of having multiple lines? Talk to the phone
company or who ever is responsible for your phone system.

I agree with Steve's reply.
Also, the additional lines should have unique phone numbers. You should be
able to call line 2 or 3.
If line 2 or 3 was used as a fax line, someone could call that line.
Your computer modem can't choose between lines.
