SP2 causes SysTray icon context menus to persist

M

Mike

XP Home, upgrade to SP2 from SP1 has caused the right click context menus of
the systray icons to sometimes not disappear if a menu item is not selected.
Thus if a number of systray icons are right clicked the resultant menus can
remain and lock and do not remove until a menu item within each is clicked.
This does not happen to the context menus of the quick launch icons nor with
any other menus or with the mouseover popups or balloon alerts. Any help on
this would be appreciated - thanks.

How interesting, Mike. I have never seen this behavior via the Notification
Area. Would need more info.

In the meantime, go to Start/Run/Regedit, navigate to this key, export it
and send it to me via private e-mail:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify
