SP2 and Via 10/100 Ethernet adaptor

since installing sp2 my onboard via 10/100 card has stopped working. It can't
make a network connection. I can ping myself but nothing else, and no
activity is shown on my switch for my pc port. I did the auto update in
windows, which find a rhine driver but that does the same. Whenever I try
and update driver, or remove device windows locks up.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Look at the IP address of the LAN.

I found that installing SP2 meant that my on-board LAN was getting a
duff IP address, outside the usual window for local addresses,
192.160.X.X.

Never did fix it. Maybe the DHCP connection is stuffed. Installed an
old PCI LAN card I had lying around, which works just fine.

Hi Ken

Thanks for your reply. I have a fixed ip which I entered and still no joy -
like you I have now replaced the onboard port for a NIC and it works a treat.
