SP2 and Security Center

Cheryl

I have been trying to turn on the Security Center Service but I keep an
error that I need to turn on the "Dependency Group". Same thing with
turning on the Firewall ICS service. I went to the knowledge base and
turned on. Application Layer Gateway Service
. Network Connections
. Network Location Awareness (NLA)
. Plug and Play
. Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
. Remote Access Connection Manager
. Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
. Telephony

but that only leads me to turn on an Internet Connection Sharing. I do not
want this. I only want to turn on the Security Center in THIS computer.
Can someone direct me as to what to do?

Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Windows Management Instrumentation

Make sure that the both the services are started and running. Then turn on the Security Center service.

RPC Started.
WMI said it needed a Dependency Group in order to start.
I restarted my computer.
Security Center still says it needs a Dependency Group to start.

Please post the exact error message/code. Also, double-click Windows Management Instrumentation service and click "Dependencies" tab.

Only Remote Procedure Call (RPC) should be listed there (in the first listbox)

Error 1068: Dependency service or group failed to start. I looked in BOTH
the WMI properties and the Security Service properties window for the names
of the Dependence Group. When I try in WMI I also get the message Win32:
Dependency Group failed to start. Both are blank in both boxes.
